Your MQTT. In your pocket. Read how MQ Pocket works, what Pocket Pro includes, and how your data is handled.

Terms of Use

Using MQ Pocket

MQ Pocket is an MQTT client provided by Tong Xu for iPhone and iPad. These terms describe use of the app and Pocket Pro. The app is licensed under Apple’s Standard EULA, linked below. These terms do not limit rights you have under applicable consumer law. Contact dami.ai@outlook.com for help.

Authorized use

Connect only to servers and topics you own or are authorized to access. You are responsible for your credentials, permissions and the messages you publish. Do not use the app for unauthorized access, attacks or unlawful activity. MQ Pocket is an independent client and is not an official MQTTX or EMQX product.

Paid membership

MQ Pocket requires paid Pocket Pro access to add or use MQTT connections, subscribe, publish and export messages. There is no free connection allowance. Monthly, yearly and lifetime plans include the same features: unlimited saved connections and JSON export. Broker hosting, network access and cloud storage are not included. The 500-entry in-memory message buffer limit still applies.

Prices and payment

U.S. storefront prices are USD 2.99 per month, USD 19.99 per year, or USD 49.90 for lifetime access. Local currency, taxes and regional pricing may differ. The price and billing period shown in Apple’s purchase confirmation apply to your purchase. Apple processes payment through your Apple account.

Automatic renewal and cancellation

Monthly and yearly subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled. Manage or cancel in Settings > your Apple account > Subscriptions, preferably at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Cancellation normally keeps access through the paid period. Uninstalling MQ Pocket does not cancel a subscription. Plan changes, renewal timing and refunds are handled under Apple’s applicable purchase rules.

Lifetime access and restoration

Lifetime is a one-time, non-consumable purchase with no recurring fee or scheduled expiry for the purchased Pocket Pro features. It does not include a hosted MQTT server or a guarantee that future devices or operating systems will support the app forever. Restore purchases using the same Apple account. If you buy lifetime while subscribed, separately cancel your subscription with Apple to prevent future subscription charges.

Expiry and refunds

When no verified Pro entitlement remains, all MQTT sessions are disconnected and locked. Adding connections and exporting messages require membership. Saved configurations are preserved and can be deleted. Purchase or restore Pro to resume use. Refunded or revoked purchases may lose access. Request refunds through Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com; eligibility is determined by Apple and applicable law.

Service reliability and changes

MQTT server availability, permissions and message delivery depend on your server and network. Verify topics and payloads before publishing, especially when they control equipment. We do not guarantee continuous background connections or uninterrupted delivery. We may update the app and these terms, with appropriate notice for material changes. Changes will not retroactively remove statutory rights or the benefits already purchased without an applicable remedy.

Privacy Policy

Who we are

MQ Pocket is provided by Tong Xu. For privacy questions or requests, contact dami.ai@outlook.com.

Data stored on your device

Connection names, server addresses, ports, TLS preferences, usernames and client identifiers are saved locally so you can reconnect. Passwords are stored in the device Keychain with access restricted to this device while unlocked. Language preferences are stored locally. MQ Pocket does not provide its own account system or cloud synchronization. Connection files may be included in device backups according to your Apple device and backup settings.

MQTT connections and messages

When you connect, the app communicates directly with the server you specify. That server receives your network IP address, client identifier, credentials you configure, subscription topics and messages you publish. MQ Pocket does not route this traffic through a developer-operated relay. The server operator controls its own logs, message storage, access rules and processing location. Other subscribers may receive your published messages according to those rules. A public broker is a shared service; avoid sending private information to it. TLS protects traffic in transit when enabled. Unencrypted TCP does not provide that protection.

Message history and exports

The current app keeps up to 500 recent message entries per connection in memory, including topic, payload, time, QoS and retained status. A paused view can hold a separate in-memory snapshot. The app does not write a persistent message archive. Clear messages to remove the active list and paused snapshot, or end the app process to release in-memory data. Export uses the system share sheet and sends the exported message data to the destination you choose. Copies you save or share are managed by you and the receiving service.

Purchases

Apple processes monthly and yearly subscriptions and the lifetime purchase. MQ Pocket uses StoreKit to read product information and verified transaction information, such as product identifier, purchase status, expiry and revocation, to determine membership access and restore purchases. We do not receive your card details. Apple handles payment records under its own privacy practices. Cancelling a subscription is separate from deleting app data; manage subscriptions in your Apple account settings. For purchase notifications, Apple sends signed transaction events to our server. We verify the app, product and transaction before sending an operational email to our fixed internal mailbox. Notifications include product identifier, transaction identifier and purchase time; they do not include your MQTT messages, broker credentials, email address or payment-card details. Our mail service stores notification identifiers, notification content and delivery status to prevent duplicate delivery, including after a restart. These records and operational emails are retained for purchase support and deduplication; contact us about deletion requests, subject to applicable retention requirements. Sandbox transactions do not produce production payment emails. This does not create an app account or route MQTT traffic through our server.

Analytics, advertising and support

The current app contains no advertising, third-party analytics or developer-operated message collection service. We do not sell app data or use it for advertising tracking. Apple may separately process App Store, device or diagnostic information under your Apple settings. If you contact support, we receive the contact details and information you choose to send and use them to respond. Do not include broker passwords or sensitive message payloads in support requests.

Retention, deletion and your choices

Saved connections remain until you delete them in the app or remove the app’s local data. Deleting a connection also requests deletion of its saved Keychain password. Keychain items may survive app removal, so delete saved connections before uninstalling when you want to remove their credentials. Clear the message list and delete exported copies separately. Disconnect to stop an MQTT connection. App deletion does not delete broker logs, retained messages, backups or Apple purchase records; manage those with the relevant provider. Contact us about access, correction or deletion of information you have sent us. Support correspondence is kept while needed to resolve your request or meet applicable record-keeping obligations, then deleted.

This website

This policy page uses no analytics scripts, advertising, cookies or external fonts. The hosting server and network provider may process technical request information, such as IP address, requested URL, time and browser information, to deliver and protect the page. Hosting log practices: Our current web-server configuration does not enable per-request access logs. Operational diagnostics may still be retained by infrastructure providers. There is no single automatic expiry period covering all such records; contact us about a specific request.

Security and changes

We use iOS file protection for saved connection files and the Keychain for passwords. No system can guarantee absolute security. Protect your device and choose servers you trust. We will update this policy when the app’s data practices change and revise the date above. Material changes will be communicated as appropriate before new processing begins.
